Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about breaking.watch.
What is breaking.watch?
breaking.watch is a changelog monitoring service that tracks 100+ developer platforms and services. We notify you the moment a breaking change is announced, giving you time to update your code before production breaks.
How does it work?
Our system monitors official changelogs, RSS feeds, and developer blogs every 5 minutes. We use keyword-based classification to detect potential breaking changes (deprecated, removed, breaking, etc.) and alert you via email based on your notification preferences.
What's the difference between Free, Pro, and Max?
Free Plan: Monitor up to 3 services and receive a Daily Summary email.
Pro Plan ($10/mo or $99/year): Monitor up to 20 services, receive real-time email alerts (within 5 minutes of detection), customizable categories, and a clean dashboard. 7-day free trial included.
Max Plan ($20/mo or $199/year): Unlimited services with Stacks for organizing by project/environment, custom Stack emails, plus everything in Pro. 7-day free trial included.
What are Stacks?
Stacks let you group services by environment (e.g., "Production", "Staging") or project. Only available on Max plans. Each stack gets its own dashboard view, its own RSS/Atom feeds, and its own Daily Summary email.
Which services do you monitor?
We monitor 118 services including Stripe, Vercel, OpenAI, GitHub, Twilio, Cloudflare, Auth0, Supabase, MongoDB, Slack, Discord, Sentry, AWS SDK, Grafana, Prometheus, Vault, ArgoCD, and more across payments, infrastructure, AI, databases, e-commerce, and communications.
How do I get started?
Simply pick either the Free, Pro, or Max plan on the home page, sign-up and you'll get immediate access to the dashboard to select which services you want to monitor.
Can I change my plan later?
Yes, you can upgrade or downgrade your plan at any time through your dashboard. Upgrades, downgrades, and cancellations all take effect immediately.
What counts as a "breaking change"?
We classify changes based on keyword detection. "Breaking changes" typically include deprecations, removals of features/endpoints, changes to data structures, or security updates that require immediate action.
Do you offer refunds?
We may offer refunds within 7 days of an initial Pro purchase for qualifying issues such as billing errors or the service not functioning as described. Cancellation itself is immediate and does not create a refund for unused time. Contact us at support@breaking.watch.
How do I contact support?
You can reach us anytime at support@breaking.watch. We typically respond within 24 hours.
